For environmental reasons, we no longer use thermally protective packaging. Thermal packaging requires paper, plastic, metallic bubble wrap, and plastic/chemical gel packs, which end up in landfills and are not biodegradable. We refuse to do that to the planet. We use UPS shipping as we've found it's a reliable shipping service, and we'll always package your order to avoid breakage. We utilize ground shipping to control costs, so delivery time depends on your proximity to Seattle, WA (average of 2-5 days). But if the products melt or are otherwise heat damaged in transit, we can’t offer replacement or refunds. Please consider carefully before ordering -- by placing your order, you consent and assume all risk for heat damaged products. Typically, we recommend shipping when temps at the receiving location are under 76F to avoid potential heat damage. Thank you for understanding and honoring our commitment to the environment.

Please double check the delivery address you enter for your chocolate order. We are experiencing a significant increase in address correction requests after the chocolate has shipped.

Fortunato Pineapple Coconut 36% Milk Chocolate Squares

These squares are made with our 36% milk chocolate, and then we hand dip one half, diagonally, in our 68% dark chocolate.

The first thing to point out is that dried, unsweetened, coconut is a perfect compliment for a sweeter chocolate. The richness and the earthiness of the coconut soaks up some of the sweetness from the milk chocolate. Dried coconut also has a nice, firm chew to it which adds great texture.

However, when you combine our swiss made milk chocolate and coconut, you end up with rich on rich. And too much rich, with no break in the action, can get old pretty fast. And here is where our chocolatier, Javier, really did some nice thinking.

How do you cut through all that richness and add another layer of flavor?

Dried pineapple to the rescue.

Now you've got all that richness cut with a perfect undertone of acidity. But dried pineapple is not too acidic, it is sweet and tangy and it all goes together beautifully.

These squares are so outright, undeniably delicious that kids love them. At the same time, they are sophisticated enough that a foodie with a well developed palate will appreciate what a work of art they are. The size of the squares are perfect for one serving, if you have the will power to eat just one. We don't. But somebody with a stronger will than us will appreciate the portioning.

Finally, if you do some price comparison shopping, you'll find we're offering an extremely fair price for something so well made, which is one of our core principles. Very high end chocolates at fair and accessible prices. We are super proud of this product and know that our wonderful friends and customers all over the country will have a good time with this one.

All of our products come with a 100% unconditional, no questions asked, money back guarantee. If you are unhappy for any reason, just send us an email and ask for a full refund.

Fortunato Chocolate is known for its rich fruit and nutty flavors, floral aroma, smooth texture, and lack of bitterness.

The Pure Naçional trees that grow the cacao used in our chocolate have the distinction of being the oldest, rarest, and most sought after in the world. So rare in fact, that they were thought to be extinct by the early 20th century, wiped out by disease. The happenstance discovery in a remote valley of the northern Peruvian jungle by Dan Pearson and Brian Horsley would eventually lead the founding of Fortunato No. 4 and the reintroduction of the world to this exquisite tasting chocolate.

All of our confections are made by hand in our chocolate kitchen in Issaquah, WA.

The amount of chocolate we have available for the general public is in limited supply due to demand from pastry chefs and chocolatiers. If you are a chocolate lover, don't hesitate!

My book club is reading “Pineapple Street” and these coconut pineapple chocolate squares were the perfect accompaniment to our discussion. I just wished you would figure out a way to cold mail to Oklahoma but I appreciate your environmental consciousness. When the weather cools off in the fall, I’ll be back for more.
