Cusco Alpaca Hat
These hats are stunning!!
During our recent journey to Cusco, we had the opportunity to witness and appreciate the exceptional craftsmanship of these hats, which are crafted by women from the Cusco area using only pure alpaca fiber.
After gathering the wool obtained from alpacas, they wash it using a root that thoroughly cleans the fabric. Then, they spin the wool by hand, and finally, they dye it using natural plants. The best part of all this labor is when they begin creating the pattern for the hats; each one has a unique pattern and hue.
